ABOUT KUBOTA TIRES
Kubota has owned the orange-paint sub-compact and small-utility lane in North America for as long as anyone in our shop has been pulling tires, and the two model families we see split cleanly: the BX-series sub-compacts (BX1880, BX2380, BX23, BX2680) all run a single 18x8.50-10 front / 26x12.00-12 rear platform with R3 turf or R4 industrial as the factory choice; the L-series small utility tractors (L2501, L3301, L3901) get bigger and the tread options open up.
R1-versus-R3-versus-R4 is the single biggest question on this make, and Kubota handles it differently from Deere: where the John Deere 1025R only ships R3 turf or R4 industrial, the Kubota L-series sells R1 ag as a real factory option — the L2501 you're looking at might have left the lot with a 7.2-16 ag front and 11.2-24 ag rear instead of the turf or industrial sizes. R3 turf is gentler on lawns; R4 industrial has stiffer sidewalls and lasts longer on hard surfaces, which is why most dealers spec new tractors that way; R1 ag is the answer if you're actually pulling implements through soil — and the forums consistently show more L-series owners trading R4 down to R1 than the other direction. If your model isn't on the list below, call us with the model number and the tread spec already on it and we'll confirm sizes before you order.
