ABOUT VREDESTEIN
Vredestein has been making tires in the Netherlands since 1909, and since 2009 it's been the European arm of Apollo Tyres. Most of the catalog is premium passenger and ag rubber, but the corner of it we care about is the classic garden-tractor line — above all the V61, the deep block-tread pattern that came factory-fitted on a generation of European garden tractors and became the reference tire for vintage-tractor owners who want the machine to look and pull the way it did new.
The V61 is the quiet over-performer of our warehouse: at 16x6.50-8 it outsells every other tire we stock in that size, Kenda included, and restorers regularly order it by name. We keep the common V61 sizes on the shelf alongside the V67 and the V60 Tri Rib front pattern. It costs more than the value imports — that's the point. When the tread pattern is part of the machine, this is the brand we hand over the counter.
