About this tire
The Kenda K478 X-Trac is built for one job: biting into mud, snow, and ice when smooth tires just spin. Kenda siped the lugs so they hold their grip on slick ground, which makes this a solid pick for a snow blower in winter or a tiller in the warmer months. It's a 2-ply tire (Load Range A) rated to 415 lbs at 14 psi, in the 16x6.50-8 size that fits an 8x5.375 rim.
This is an aggressive tread, so be honest with yourself about where you'll run it. The deep, siped lugs that grab in snow will feel rough and noisy on pavement or hard-packed surfaces, and Kenda rates it for non-highway use only. If your machine spends most of its time on a paved drive, a smoother turf tire will ride better. If you're fighting for traction on a snow thrower or working soft, loose ground, that's where this tire earns its keep.
It runs about 16.5 inches in overall diameter with a 6.1-inch section width. Each tire ships brand new and never mounted, first-run stock, not a blem. We've sold Kenda direct here in Cleveland for years, so if you're unsure whether the K478 matches your equipment, ask before you buy.
